Many English teachers
in Japan have no experience teaching. For those interested, the ESL
teaching certificate, which can be earn by successfully completing a two or
three month course, provides training for the teacher and assurance of the
skill and knowledge of the prospective teacher for the employer , but it is
not necessary for most English teaching positions in Japan. Your
greatest advantage is that you are a native English speaker. Your job
will be to improve the student conversational ability by speaking to them.
